Millerton Madness Triathlon

Millerton Madness packs a USAT-sanctioned super sprint triathlon into one morning at Millerton Lake on Sunday, August 23 at 7:30 AM: a 400-yard swim, a 5.4-mile bike, and a 2.2-mile run. The race stages from Meadow Campground on the lake's Madera side, near Friant.

The Course

The swim loops buoys off the Millerton Lake boat launch. The bike is an out-and-back with rolling hills to the park entrance sign, and the run follows asphalt road 1.1 miles out to the park entrance crosswalk and back.

Registration

The triathlon is $100 through August 16, a 5K run-only option is $60, and relay teams of two or three race for $165. Sierra Cascades organizes the race.

The short distances make this one of the most approachable triathlons in the Fresno area, and Millerton Lake is about 25 minutes north of downtown.
