The San Joaquin River Poetry Project Summer Workshop (August)
Fresno Poet Laureate Aideed Medina leads a free poetry workshop and nature walk at Running River Ranch on Sunday, August 23 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. The session is part of the San Joaquin River Poetry Project, a year-long series built on the Indigenous poetry practice of Flor y Canto: participants walk the river, write, and share poems as a group.
The Series
Workshops run every fourth Sunday through May 2027, with locations posted on Instagram at @sjriver_poetry. Running River Ranch is at 14439 N Friant Rd in Friant, about 20 minutes north of downtown Fresno.
Free, outdoors, and led by the city's Poet Laureate. Questions go to sjrpoetry@gmail.com.
