Freedom Run
The Fresno Freedom Run sends its Fourth of July course past an American flag-lined route and puts the proceeds toward Central Valley Honor Flight. The event is on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Woodward Park in Fresno, with the kids race at 7:00 AM, the 4-mile at 7:15 AM, and the 2-mile at 7:18 AM. Registration is $54 for the 4-mile or 2-mile run/walk and $22.20 for the kids races, with prices rising after July 1. Veterans pay a reduced $48.70 for either distance. Every finisher receives a participant shirt, chip timing, post-race snacks, and a newly designed commemorative finisher medal.
The Races
The lineup is a 4-mile run/walk, a 2-mile run/walk, and kids races for ages 1 to 8, plus a virtual option for $54. The 4-mile and 2-mile both use chip timing. The course runs along a flag-lined route through Woodward Park.
Why It Supports Honor Flight
Entry fees benefit Central Valley Honor Flight, which sends local World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor. The discounted veteran registration ties the race directly to the people it raises money for.
Getting There
Woodward Park is off Friant Rd in north Fresno, about a 20-minute drive from downtown. Packet pickup is Friday, July 3 from 3 to 6 PM at Fleet Feet Fresno, 9447 N Fort Washington Rd, and again on race morning from 6 to 7 AM at the park.
The flag-lined course and the Honor Flight tie-in make this a Fourth of July run for Fresno families who want the holiday morning workout to send a Valley veteran to D.C.
