About

Lost Lake Recreation Area sits on the San Joaquin River just below Friant Dam, about 19 miles northeast of downtown Fresno. Day use is $5 per vehicle, and gates run 7 AM to 10 PM April through September, closing at 7 PM in winter. The Lost Lake Nature Trail loops through cottonwood and willow riparian forest, and the park has a campground, picnic areas, and river access for fishing and paddling. The current is stronger than it looks, so keep small kids close to shore.
