Pine Flat Lake
About
Pine Flat Lake stores the Kings River behind a Corps of Engineers dam in the Sierra foothills, about 45 minutes east of Fresno near Piedra. At full pool it spreads nearly 6,000 surface acres, and it holds bass, rainbow trout, kokanee, and catfish. Day use runs $5 at the four main recreation areas: Deer Creek, Island Park, Lakeview, and Trimmer. Water levels swing hard with the Kings River runoff, so the shoreline moves through the season.
